Calling all champions of Canadian film! National Canadian Film Day 150 (NCFD 150) is a one-day celebration of Canadian cinema in honour of Canada’s sesquicentennial. NCFD 150 will put our cinema in an unprecedented spotlight and promises to be the world’s largest film festival. Ever!
We hope that you’ll want to be part of this momentous day because it will be great fun! You’ll be one of 800+ screening hosts across all provinces and territories and part of a huge network of enthusiastic Canadians who also want to join the party.
Canada’s sesquicentennial celebrations will be happening all year, in all sorts of ways. In our humble opinion, NCFD 150 is one of the easiest and best ways to bring that celebration right into your community. Bring your friends and neighbours together and expose them to a great Canadian film, one that you choose and that they may have never seen before.
And you won’t have to do it alone. Our team is here to assist you in selecting the right film and to put on an event that your community will love. We’ll help you plan, answer your questions, send you some goodies and other promotional materials plus give you tools to extend the fun online as well.
We want NCFD 150 screenings to be free for all Canadians to enjoy, so we can even help offset the costs of putting on your event. Depending on the size, scope and location of your screening, there may be even more ways that we can contribute. Just get in touch to find out more!
We’re looking to partner with communities in every corner of the country — no matter how remote — to extend the reach of NCFD 150. Wouldn’t it be amazing if every single Canadian, all over the country, had somewhere to watch a great Canadian film on April 19, 2017? Help us get closer to that goal and celebrate our nation’s 150th birthday by participating in the world’s largest film festival. Ever!
