Two Lovers and a Bear

Director: Kim Nguyen Year: 2016 Run Time: 96min

Montreal-born director Kim Nguyen's first fiction film since his Academy Award–nominated Rebelle is a romance that unfolds in the icy tundra of the Arctic. Lucy (Tatiana Maslany) and Roman (Dane DeHaan) live in a remote and isolated town in Nunavut. The sheltered pair are deeply in love, but when Lucy is offered a scholarship to continue her studies away from home, it plunges Roman into a deep depression. As the couple sets out on one last voyage through the uncharted Arctic wilderness, the central question is not how they will survive but how they will escape from the dark shadows of their pasts.
