The Last Winter

Director: Aaron Kim Johnston Year: 1989 Run Time: 115min

The Last Winter is the wryly funny tale of a young boy's struggle to keep his world from changing. William Jamison has lived with his grandpa on an idyllic 1950s Manitoba farm for his entire life. He's a boy of great imagination who stumbles between fantasy and reality and who, with the gentle guidance of Grandpa Jack, discovers they can be one in the same. The family farm is William's favourite place on earth, so he is devastated when he learns of his parents' decision to move to the city, far from his friends and his beloved cousin Kate. Now William must fight to hold on to the only life he has known.
