No Cultural Value

Director: Mike Maryniuk Year: 2016 Run Time: 19min

After creating a lifetime's worth of concrete sculptures, along with 500 paintings, a rural folk artist tried to bequeath his work to the province of Manitoba. The government assessed the collection and deemed it to have no cultural value. Blending animation, time-lapses and archival interviews, this doc and the decaying materials it captures depict a loss of local history.
